Workshop to review the stages of the legislative environment development project and the results of the first phase
In order to envision an independent and effective civil society, and to find executive mechanisms that support this vision, the Nation Building Movement organized a workshop in which 20 civil activists and a number of experts and legal experts participated, as part of the project to develop the legislative environment for civil and community work in Syria.
The three-days workshop began with a review of the project’s work stages and the results of the first stage, and the resulting work paths (legal, assemblage, advocacy). The first day concluded with a review of the initial concept paper entitled “Towards an Independent and Effective Civil Society.”
Dr. Hesham Khayat presented the concept of the theory of change, the benefits of using this theory, and the change methodology that is mainly based on defining our vision, the long-term goals to reach the vision, assumptions for reaching the goals, indicators and activities.
The workshop participants were divided into working groups in order to apply the theory of change to the previously prepared vision paper - the product of the first phase - entitled “Towards an Independent and Effective Civil Society.”
The third day of the workshop concluded with the participants proposing messages for the project with the facilitator Dana Abdeen, and the participants being distributed according to their desires into the project tracks, so that the project can expand its work team, in order to reach an independent and effective civil society.
It is worth noting that the final version of the theory of change has been completed and will be shared with you once it has been reviewed.
