The Press

The media is entrusted with the task of monitoring the elections and has the right to do that, according to the Local Administration Law, to monitor the work of the local councils. Therefore, the Your Role campaign has partnered with the press on several levels:

• Journalism training workshops on the concepts of local administration and local development, and the most prominent journalistic practices for covering local administration elections, with a group of trainers and experts in the field of media and local development.

• Workshops with experts in Syrian journalism working in government and private sector media.

• Direct partnership with journalists to support the production of journalistic materials covering local administration elections that adhere to the values ​of peacebuilding and development, and this was done through the supervision of an expert in local journalism in Syria.​
