Photography Historically and Socially Over 100 Years
A new evening of reflections on the image was held yesterday, Tuesday, December 8, 2020, during which the first part of the “Genius of Photography” film series was screened.
The film series talks about photography historically and socially over 100 years of change, and about its different uses and how it changed the way we see the world. This part focuses on the ways in which the technical problems of shadow reflection in the camera obscura were solved.
The film also describes the remarkable achievements of pioneering photographers, and the revolution that occurred when George Eastman made photography available to the masses by inventing the Kodak brand.
It is noteworthy that this series was produced in 2007 and was translated specifically for our evening.
