From Aleppo... "Nation Building" continues to discuss Syrian scenarios and the civil role

The Nation Building Movement held an expanded dialogue session in Aleppo Governorate, the second to discuss the expected scenarios of the Syrian situation in the coming stage, and the role required of civil society.

A group of political and civil forces, independent figures, experts, researchers, activists and media professionals from the province participated in the session held in the Aleppo Capital of Islamic Culture Forum Hall on January 23, 2025.

The discussion addressed the internal and external determinants on which the scenarios were based. The participants concluded that the country is heading towards a hybrid scenario between an administration that may dominate power or seek modal participation in it and the possibility of imposing a political solution from the outside. They also agreed that the participants want a scenario based on real partnership and sparing the country any violence, and the need to find a radical solution to the dispute between the new administration and the Syrian Democratic Forces due to its impact on the societal reality in Aleppo Governorate, and the need for foreign forces to withdraw from Syria.

As for the civil role, the participants agreed on the necessity of the interaction of various forces with the new administration to increase the space and margins of political and civil participation and to focus efforts on raising awareness, national dialogue, local development, and forming Syrian civil visions that support sustainable stability and consolidate the state of societal and political balance.
It is noteworthy that the movement will publish the outcomes of the dialogue sessions after they are held in various Syrian governorates.
