We choose initiative

Specific objectives:    

• Raising community awareness about the Local Administration Law, the role of local councils in localities, and the impact of positive community participation in electing their representatives

• Focusing on the role of women and youth in electoral work and its impact on the outcomes of local councils in the region.

Initiative Description:

Producing a short film on local administration and the powers available to local councils according to Local Administration Law No. 107, especially with regard to the work of local volunteer committees and the means that councils resort to to enhance their financial resources in a way that serves their achievement of high rates of local development, and focusing on the role of local media in focusing on local problems and monitoring the work of the field. The film was then screened to open a dialogue about its content, evaluate the performance of the local council in the city of Safita, and discuss mechanisms for activating cooperation with the local council with regard to improving services in the city of Safita, in addition to working to enhance the presence of the local community in monitoring problems, finding solutions, and participating in their implementation.
