Project Details

The project idea comes from the necessity of researching and studying the Syrian context in order to develop visions, discover new spaces, and anticipate useful possibilities that help find solutions to problems and present strategic ideas or approaches that can later be developed into productive national policies. The project adopts the tools of dialogue, research, study, and exchange of knowledge and experiences. It also focuses on dialogue and creating productive interaction spaces as a basic driver for reaching real outcomes that are close to the people and capable of describing the Syrian context and its components in their current form.

The project is characterized by a research phase that produces studies and research that support the knowledge stock that monitors this important period in the country's history, especially during the end of the armed conflict in a large part of the Syrian geography. The project then moves to a practical phase that enriches the research outputs and establishes points directly with the target audience, as the project targets opinion leaders and representatives of political, social and economic forces, emerging and traditional in Syria. We can say that this project is also a work path through which we try to come up with a miniature model of civil work that can work in the spaces where it is necessary to be present, while supporting the implementation of a number of initiatives that contribute to clarify the role of civil society and removing many of the emerging concerns of both central and local authorities, which establishes a participatory state between these various sectors to accomplish the development process in Syria.

Project Goals:

  1. Studying the Syrian context and the map of the active forces in it, whether emerging or traditional, with their diverse specializations.
  2. Empowering a team of researchers with scientific research skills and tools to study the map of Syrian forces, and identifying the target group in the second phase.
  3. Producing research and studies on the Syrian context and the active forces in it.
  4. Launching a dialogue process between political, social and economic forces, emerging and traditional, which are still in the process of formation, regarding their vision of national issues, the state and society.
  5. Employing dialogue between the various Syrian forces to develop visions and programs for citizens before the parliamentary elections scheduled to be held in the first half of 2020.
  6. Developing knowledge outputs and sharing them with people to supplement the knowledge stock about the Syrian context and the possibilities of a solution and facing the future with Syrian approaches and visions.

The project was divided into two phases: study and dialogue.

The study phase was implemented in all Syrian governorates with the aim of enabling them to study the map of Syrian forces and determine the target group in the second phase.
