Presenting outputs and experiences exchange
The Building Movement concluded the project “Interaction of Development Forces with the Status of Local Administration Elections in Syria” at the end of the second edition of the “Your Role” campaign. The activities of the closing day began with a workshop for a group of journalists and activists entitled “Presenting Outputs and Exchanging Experiences.”
At the beginning of the workshop, the head of the Nation Building Movement, Mr. Anas Joudeh, said that the state of community interaction is not limited to local administration elections it self, but is an ongoing state to achieve development and build peace. He pointed out that local administration elections constitute an important opportunity to enhance social concepts related to expanding the circle of community participation in all its forms, whether through supporting the participation of women and youth in the electoral process, or in enhancing the role and participation of civil society organizations and individuals, to be real partners in the early recovery phase and the challenges it poses to the development process and its sustainability. He explained the importance of the three tracks that were worked on throughout the project period: the monitoring and follow-up track, the media track, and the civil track.
The participants reviewed the results of their work and the lessons learned from it, and the outcomes of the electoral process in various Syrian localities, including the community’s interaction with the electoral situation, and the challenges that hindered the electoral process. The participants also spoke about their interaction with the local administration elections after the workshop “The Role of Local Administration Elections in Development and Peacebuilding” held by the Nation Building Movement.
