Syrian dialogue platforms
Damascus
The Nation Building Movement launched its second dialogue session in Damascus as part of the “Syrian Dialogue Platforms” project, under the title “Examining Strategic Options for Syrians” with the aim of developing a new methodology for political and social work to be based on plans and programs, gathering Syrians on the basis of their positions on them, and motivating them to participate in shaping their future.
The session also aims to make the development of public policies and the periodic follow-up of their implementation the core of societal interest, and to create pressure groups of supporters of the various resulting ideas and support them cognitively and logistically to be the core of political and civil gatherings based on interests, in order to pressure the political decision-making circles related to Syria to adopt the plans agreed upon by the Syrians, and to gather experts, societal leaders and civil society activists to come up with balanced, studied and implementable visions.
The session revolves around four main sectors: culture, identity and belonging, state form and governance, governance, national reconciliation and peacebuilding.
The dialogue was rich and intense between a group of specialists and politicians with different political orientations, in the presence of a number of members of the People's Assembly, civil activists, and local community leaders who came to Damascus from a number of Syrian governorates, and recorded interventions by a number of interested Syrian figures residing outside Syria.
