General Principles of Screenwriting Workshop
Yesterday, the “Ghosn Program” concluded the “General Principles of Writing a Narrative Television Scenario” workshop at the headquarters of the Nation Building Movement in Damascus. The workshop lasted for 2 days, 6 hours per day. On the first day, the workshop dealt with the components of the scenario, including characters (internally and externally, the character’s conflict with self and others, success and failure in achieving goals), stories (plots, climaxes, confrontations, crises), time in the scenario, conflict (drama), scene-building techniques in the scenario, cutting techniques, and sequence of scenes.
On the second day, the workshop discussed the assignments written by the participants, based on the information from the first day, and corrected the technical errors of the scenes and the structural errors in building the event and character.
The workshop concluded with a general evaluation of the trainer’s performance and the participants’ performance. The general impression was that it was a good workshop that achieved its intended purpose.
