Legislative Environment Development Program

The Nation Building Movement, as a civil activist, seeks to activate the role of civil society in particular and society in general, in the process of developing and amending the regulatory legislative environment in the country that governs various affairs.

It is not possible to move to the next stage without the legislative and legal framework, especially since the legal body in Syria has become outdated and incapable of meeting the various current societal needs.

There is now an urgent need to amend or produce a new legislative system, especially after the war conditions halted any serious move to issue new laws.

Civil action, in addition to advocacy and social pressure, after strengthening these components with sufficient knowledge and awareness, will constitute an important weapon to achieve the values of transparency and accountability.

The work in this program includes holding training sessions, workshops, and interactive dialogue sessions in the presence of experts and specialists.

Program objectives:

1-  Creating safe spaces for dialogue, training and empowerment for specialized and interested pregnant women, to launch work, pressure and advocacy towards development and modification.

2-  Spreading awareness of the existing legislative environment among specialists, interested parties and qualified social media users.

3-  Opening the door to discussion and work in an attempt to extract clear principles that clarify our needs in various fields so that we can calibrate any new law on the basis of them, and know what the current legislative environment holds in terms of possibilities for work.

4-  Advocacy for the creation of civil and specialized pressure groups to launch the development process or seek to achieve it.

5-  Launching initiatives in light of the potential discovered through empowerment and training, which opens the way for experimentation and practical exploration of what is good and what is better.
