Program Details

Belonging is the central motive for launching the process of building and practicing true citizenship, but this will not happen in light of the thorny Syrian reality, as Syria today suffers from social cracks and fissures created or revealed by the devastating Syrian war. Many areas are still witnessing either local conflicts between their various components, or conflicts at the level of displaced persons - residents, or old conflicts related to belonging to the countryside and the city. This has resulted in dispersion and displacement in various countries, so that each group has come to the surface with the conditions of a difficult reality and a crisis with an older root than it appears to the observer. These facts necessarily require diligent and focused work on frankness, dialogue, and reconciliation. Especially since NBM believes in building peace and dialogue as a trans-path goal and a priority, and sees reconciliation as a long national work path that begins now and ends when the Syrians see it, and it is a path that deals with the past, present, and future of Syria. We in NBM also believe that Syrian-Syrian dialogue is the only way to reach sustainable outcomes that serve and express all Syrians and go beyond that to be a fixed work value at every step. This program focuses on creating Syrian opportunities and spaces. This is the first of NBM’s programs in terms of implementation time. Through this program, we seek to:

  • Free and neutral building spaces characterized by freedom of expression and ensuring the safe sharing of concerns, hopes and interests Syrian-Syrian University
  • Reaching and establishing comprehensive, consensual national visions, discourse and plans resulting from dialogue and work, away from all external agendas.
  • Possible and strong paths to work on, produce studies, exchange experiences, disseminate knowledge and raise awareness related to national issues and needs in a way that ensures that Syrian women in all their specialties are provided with the necessary support in the construction process.
  • Devoting the values of harmony and coexistence by studying the components of peace and feeding them with work and dialogue and empowering the bearers of its achievement
  • Studying the diverse Syrian ground, opportunities and contexts that support the creation of new Syrian-Syrian connections and partnerships that serve peacebuilding and establish the values of societal cohesion

This program includes a number of projects and outputs, the most important of which are:
