Syrian dialogue platforms
The project was implemented in the following cities:
The implementation of the Syrian Dialogue Platforms project came in the context of a strategic opportunity in which the movement worked to address the fragile reality that the country has reached and open a Syrian-Syrian interactive dialogue space that deals directly with the basic chapters of the constitution in accordance with the pillars of "identity and belonging, form of government and state, governance, peace-building and reconciliation." It is a project that directly aims to examine the strategic options for Syrians in building their homeland and state, and to establish a new methodology for Syrian political and social work to be based on plans and programs, and to gather Syrians on the basis of positions on them, and to motivate them to participate in shaping their future. The project also carries the goal of establishing the concept of politics as an expression of the interests on which positions are based, and to contribute to push for the formation of interest groups that adopt these interests and visions and pressure to implement them.
This project is considered one of the foundational projects for NBM, as it has greatly contributed to establish and strengthen our confidence in the work paths we have launched, and has effectively helped in developing our awareness and understanding of the Syrian context in close cooperation with the concerned parties closest to the ground than any other internal or external party. The work within the project stages resulted in a comprehensive report that reflects in detail the consensual visions, concerns and urgent needs in the Syrian street and society, and it also includes scientific theorizing about the most effective approaches and the most important work areas, which stimulates more research, work and study.
Project Goals:
- Developing plans and visions for the future of Syria with the participation of a number of specialists, public figures, and civil activists.
- Creating a social and political movement based on programs not on the outcomes of the crisis.
- Making the development of public policies and the periodic follow-up of their implementation a core concern of society.
- Creating pressure groups of supporters of the various resulting ideas and supporting them cognitively and logistically to become the core of political and civil gatherings based on interests.
- Pressuring political decision-making circles related to Syria to adopt plans agreed upon by the Syrians.
- Bringing together experts, community leaders and civil society activists to come up with balanced, thoughtful and actionable visions.
